ADAM SCOTT scored a six-under 64 to take the clubhouse lead in the first round of The Open Championship on Thursday in Lancashire, England.
Filipino Juvic Pagunsan, who topped the Asian Tour money list last year, bogeyed No. 18 and came up with a one-over 71 at Royal Lytham and St Annes.
Pagunsan sandwiched a bogey with birdies on Nos. 4 and 6 then dropped a shot on the ninth to reach the turn at even par. The 34-year-old player from Bacolod was bogey free on the homeward nine until the par-4 closing hole.
Paul Lawrie and Zach Johnson shot 65s while Tiger Woods had a 67 which was matched by Masters champion Bubba Watson, former US Open winner Graeme McDowell and former Open champion Ernie Els.
Three-time Open champion Woods had four birdies on the front nine and suffered his only bogey on No. 15.
