    Schwartzel wins by 11 strokes in Thailand

    CHARL SCHWARTZEL came up with another 65, his third in the tournament, to post an 11-stroke victory in the US$1 million Thailand Golf Championship on Sunday.

    It was the first win for the South African since ruling the 2011 Masters, ending a 20-month title drought.

    He finished with a 25-under-par 263 total at Amata Spring Country Club in Chonburi to claim the title and US$158,500 (around P6.48 million).

    Reigning Masters titlist Bubba Watson of the US also had a closing 65 to finish in joint second at 14-under-par 274 with Thailand’s Thitiphun Chuayprakong. They each bagged US$84,750.

    Angelo Que finished at even par 288 with a fourth consecutive 72 for joint 43rd spot and US$5,600, while Elmer Salvador closed with a 68 and ended up sharing 51st spot at 290 and pocketing US$4,200.

    Juvic Pagunsan had a final-round 72 for a 291 total, a share of 53rd place and US$3,650, while Miguel Tabuena scored a 76 for a 296 aggregate, a share of 67th spot and US$2,500.
