SARAPORN Chamchoi and seven other Thai players vie for honors against top local shotmakers in the Manila Southwoods Ladies Classic next week at Southwoods’ Legends course in Carmona, Cavite.
Third at Wack Wack and Luisita, Chamchoi looks to finally reach the top spot in the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour’s season-ending 54-hole tournament set Oct. 27 to 29.
Other Thai players seeing action in the P500,000 tournament are Sarauttaya Ngam-usawan, Mookharin Ladgratok, Wannasiri Sirisampant, Jaruporn Palakawongnaayuttawa, Chayuda Singhsuwan, Chattarat Chatwarrarat and Supakchaya Pattaranakrueang, who also tied for third at Luisita.
Sherwood leg winner Sarah Ababa shoots for her second crown as she spearheads the local challenge along with perennial contender Jayvie Agojo, Chihiro Ikeda, Apple Fudolin, Lucy Landicho, Eva Miñoza, Anya Tanpinco, Sylvia Torres, Lovelyn Guioguio, Tracy Que, Majorie Pulumbarit and former Philippine Ladies Open winner Heidi Chua.
The event is the eighth and final leg of tour sponsored by International Container Terminal Services, Inc., which launched the circuit in 2013.
Korea’s Hwang Ye-nah won the season opener at Southlinks, while Thai Meechai Wichanee ruled the second leg at Splendido.
Amateur star Princess Superal won at Wack Wack title, Cyna Rodriguez reigned supreme at Riviera, while Ababa dominated Sherwood event of in the circuit backed by Nike Golf, Pacsports, Custom Clubmakers, Sharp and Champion Infinity.
Fil-Am Cristina Corpus won at Luisita, while while Korean amateur Hwang Min Jeong topped the Mt. Malarayat tournament.
