    CARL Santos-Ocampo tries to go two-for-two in Tagaytay events on the Philippine Golf Tour this year when the ICTSI Splendido Classic gets going on Wednesday at the Splendido Golf and Country Club.

    Winner at Tagaytay Midlands in August, the 25-year-old Santos-Ocampo is looking to boost his ranking on the money list after moving to No. 5 with P837,068 in earnings with an eighth place finish at Southwoods last month.

    Southwoods winner Tony Lascuna is on top of the Order of Merit with P1,682,332 in winnings followed by Sherwood leg winner Miguel Tabuena (P1,456,527), Aboitiz Invitational back-to-back champion Elmer Salvador (P1,087,776), and Angelo Que (P1,036,276).

    The P1 million event, the 12th leg in the 15-stage circuit, features 66 players including John Hay leg champion Jay Bayron, Palos Verdes winner Michael Bibat, Mars Pucay, Jhonnel Ababa, Cassius Casas, Ferdie Aunzo, Rufino Bayron, Jun Bernis, Marvin Dumandan, Anthony Fernando and Mhark Fernando.

    Focus will also be on Guido Van der Valk, who ruled this year’s Qualifying School at Splendido, along with Japanese Tomo Yoshinaga and local bets Jun Bernis, Zanie Boy Gialon, Dante Becierra, Christopher delos Santos, Randy Garalde, James Ryan Lam, Benjie Magada, Elmer Saban, Richard Sinfuego, Orlan Sumcad and Arnold Villacencio.

    The circuit is organized by Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc., sponsored by International Container Terminals Services, Inc. and also supported by Nike Golf, Srixon, Custom Clubmakers, Pacsports, Cleveland Golf, Callaway, Ping, Mizuno, Empire Golf and Sports Shop, FootJoy, Titleist, Sharp, BMW and Gergia Energy Foods.
