    Nov 16, 2016
Princess Superal hits three birdies against a bogey.

PRINCESS Superal and amateur Regina de Guzman shot two-under 70s to stand just one stroke off pace after one round of the National Women’s Golf Association at LPGA International-Jones in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Elizabeth Szokol, Riuxin Liu and Prima Thammaraks shot 69 to share the top spot.

Superal and De Guzman were tied for fifth with Nannette Hill and Madeleine Sheils in the 54-hole event serving as the second-to-last tuneup tournament for those vying in the LPGA Q-School Final Stage two weeks from now, also in Florida.

Superal hit two birdies at the front then made up for a bogey on No. 11 with birdie on the closing hoe, a par-5.

De Guzman had nines of 36-34, including four birdies and two bogeys on the back nine.

Szokol birdied three of the last four holes at the front to fire a 69.

The last LPGA Q-School Final Stage will be held Nov. 20-22 at LPGA International-Hills.

Superal was fourth and De Guzman seventh in last week’s Arizona Women’s Open.

Other Filipinas set to fight for 20 LPGA Tour cards are Dottie Ardina, Cyna Rodriguez and Mia Piccio along with Fil-Am Claris Guce, a two-time winner on the Symetra Tour.
