Superal, De Guzman boost chances of advancing with solid third round in LPGA Qualifying Stage II

Princess Superal moves from 62nd spot to joint 47th. 

PRINCESS Superal fired a second straight 74, enough to move her from a precarious 62nd spot to a more solid joint 47th after the third round of the LPGA Qualifying Stage II on Saturday in Venice, Florida (Sunday, Manila time).

Superal, a former US Girls Junior champion and winner of several tournaments on the Philippine domestic professional ladies tour, was at 221 with seven other players.

The top 80 and ties after Sunday’s final-round advance to Final Stage set November 30 to December 4 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach.

Regan de Guzman came up with a 73 for a 222 total, climbing from joint 79th to a share of 54th.

Mia Piccio had a second consecutive 76 and was in a big group sharing 67th spot at 223.

Marianne Skarpnord of Norway took the lead after carding a 69 for a 10-under 206 total, while

Maia Schechter slipped to second after adding a 75 to consecutive 68s.
