INCHEON, Korea — Princess Superal and Mia Legaspi limped home at the end of their campaign in the 17th Asian Games golf competitions at the Dream Park Country Club here.
Superal finished 11th while Legaspi was two notches down at 13th place.
Superal shot a two-under-par 70 for a total of 284 while Legaspi carded a final round two-over-par 74 for a 287 as the two Filipinas finished way off the medal winners in women’s golf.
Pauline Beatriz Del Rosario finished 22nd with a total of 301.
Gyeol Park of Korea stole the gold medal from Budsabakorn Sukapan, thanks to a final-round 64 to end up with 269 total, one shot ahead of the Thai golfer who had to settle for the silver despite being in the lead in the first three rounds of the competition.
Suparmas Sangchan of Thailand clinched the bronze medal with a 274.
The Philippines ended up in fifth place in the women’s team competition with a total of 571. Thailand won the gold with a 538 followed by Korea, (545) and China (559).
