THE 2020 PGA Tour Series-China season has officially been canceled.
Owned and operated by the PGA Tour, the series held a qualifying event for players from China in January but could not proceed with other qualifiers due travel restrictions and health concerns.
The top five in last year’s series earned playing status in the Korn Ferry Tour.

Tour officials said players who earned membership following the 2019 season via a top-50 finish on the Order of Merit will maintain status for next season, as well as those who advanced through the qualifiers.
“It’s a disappointment, but I know our players and fans understand—given the continuing evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic—that the health and safety of everyone associated with the Series is of the utmost importance, and staging a TOUR based in China with players from five different continents is just not feasible at this time,” said PGA TourSeries-China executive director Greg Carlson in a statement.
“We have enjoyed five great years in China, and this was shaping up to be the most successful season in our history. We will continue to evaluate what is happening with the coronavirus and hope the situation alleviates itself so we can again resume tournament golf in this part of the world in 2021.”
The Mackenzie Tour – PGA Tour Canada season was also canceled earlier this year due to restrictions at the Canada-US border.
