STARS of the hardcourt gathered on the fairways to raise funds for ailing colleagues, seeing action in the 1st PBA Legends Golf Tournament.
PBA legends led by Atoy Co and Alvin Patrimonio and current stars Kiefer Ravena and Chris Tiu showed off their smooth swings along with friends on Thursday at Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.
The golf tournament is the first event held by the The Samahan Ng Mga Dating Propesyonal na Basketbolista ng Pilipinas for the benefit of former basketball pros who are either sick or are struggling to sustain maintenance medication.
Co, the SDPBPFI chairman, hopes that with the tournament, the organization could double the seed fund of P1 million from UNTV owner Daniel Razon.
The former PBA star and now Mapua Cardinals coach added that basketball charity events are being lined up next.
Patrimonio is the president of the SDPBPFI, while Phlip Cezar is the vice president, Ed Cordero is the secretary, Jojo Lastimosa the treasurer, with Allan Caidic, Pido Jarencio, Kenneth Duremdes and Art de la Cruz as board members.
