Pagunsan winds up tied for 48th in Japan golfest

JUVIC PAGUNSAN finally found his rhythm but it was a little too late, a closing 68 giving him a share of 48th spot in the Casio World Open on Sunday in the Japan Tour.

It was the only round in the 60s for the shotmaker from Bacolod, who struggled with earlier scores of 73-71-71.

He wound up 14 shots behind winner Jung-Gon Hwang, who had a sizzling 66 on the Kochi Kuroshio Country Club for a 19-under 269 total.

The Korean won by three strokes over Kunihiro Kamii, who had a final-round 68.

Yoshinori Fujimoto (67), Kenichi Kuboya (69) and Kyung Tae-Kim (70) ended up in joint third at 14 under.
