JUVIC Pagunsan came up with a third-round four-under 68 and slipped from a share of the lead to joint second after Saturday’s third round of the Enjoy Jakarta Indonesia PGA Championship of the OneAsia Tour.
Joint leader with Japan’s Ryuko Tokimatsu and Korea’s Park Sang-hyun after two rounds, Pagunsan had a fine third round at Damai Indah Golf’s 7,160-yard Bumi Serpong Damai course, coming up with five birdies against a bogey.
But Park came up with a 67 to move a hairline ahead with 18 holes left to play in the US$1 million event.
Park was at 18 under 198, with Pagunsan and Michio Matsumura at 17 under 199.
“It’s brilliant to be in this position,” Pagunsan told OneAsia.
The Filipino shotmaker had won on the course in 2007.
“I haven’t been in contention for sometime, although I have felt my game has been starting to come good for a while. My game is in great shape and I will have a great chance tomorrow.”
