His morale boosted with a strong fourth-place finish in a Japan Tour event, Juvic Pagunsan looks to reprise his victory at Eastridge Golf Club last year when the Philippine Golf Tour holds its fifth leg today (Wednesday) in Binangonan, Rizal.
Pagunsan banked P3.9 million with his fine performance in the Citibank Cup in Ibaraki on Sunday. The Filipino parbuster earned his card on the Japan Tour by topping the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit last year.
Pagunsan confirmed his participation in the P1 million tournament which he won last year, one of the four local tournaments he won en route to topping the money list.
Also expected to figure in the title hunt are Tony Lascuna, who won at Eagle Ridge two weeks ago by six strokes, and Elmer Salvador, who won at Sherwood last month.
Jhonnel Ababa, winner of three events last year, is also seeing action along with Jay Bayron, Cassius Casas, Rufino Bayron, Artemio Murakami, Mhark Fernando and Marvin Dumandan, the champion of the John Hay Invitational.
Also eyeing the top prize of P200,000 are Asian Tour campaigners Miguel Tabuena, Angelo Que and Mars Pucay, Anthony Fernando, Elmer Saban, Richard Sinfuego, Robert Pactolerin, Orlan Sumcad, Ferdie Aunzo, Jun Bernis and Gerald Rosales.
