    Nicolas Paez holds slim lead as second-round play at ADT Wack Wack is halted due to darkness

    Nicolas Paez was at seven under for the tournament, four under with three holes to play in the second round. 

    NICOLAS Paez of the US birdied No. 12 after a two-hour long delay and stood at seven-under overall with three holes to go when second-round play was stopped due to darkness on Thursday in the Aboitiz Invitational on Thursday at Wack Wack’s East course.

    Paez hit three birdies from No. 3 and took the lead on the 12th before making par on the next two holes. He was four-under for the round when play was called off.

    At six under were Blake Snyder, who fired a 68, and Jay Bayron, who carded a 71.

    Second round play resumes early on Friday, with the top 50 plus ties advancing.

    Thailand’s Rattanon Wannasrichan birdied two of the last six holes to shoot a 71 for a 143, while Sweden’s Malcolm Kokocinski and Indonesia’s George Gandranata matched par 72s for the second straight day for 144s in a tie with Aussie David Gleeson, who carded a 71, and American player Micah Shin, who also had a 72.

    Suradit Yongcharoenchai stumbled with a 73 for a 145 in a tie with Jobim Carlos, who hobbled with a 75.

    Arnold Villacencio was at three over with six holes to play.

    Tony Lascuña bounced back from an opening 76 with a 70 to join two-time winner Elmer Salvador, who fumbled with a 74, South Africa’s Mathiam Keyser and Chris Akers of Australia, who both shot 71s, and Dodge Kemmer of the US, who also turned in an even par 72.

    Thailand’s Pijit Petchkasem was at two-over card with six holes to go.

    Frankie Miñoza, winner of the last PGT event in Negros, also made a 72 for a 147 in a tie with Manila Southwoods ADT winner Gavin Green of Malaysia, who also shot a 72, and Marvin Dumandan, who shot a 78 in the tournament put up by Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. and sponsored by ICTSI with the Asian Development Tour and Pilipinas Golf Tournaments as co-organizers.
