All set for Sino-Filipino Day Golf Tournament at Wack Wack
Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation director and golf chairman Francis Dy signs the Memorandum of Agreement with The Jungolf League president Chona dela Paz and Philippine Sports Institute NCR program officer Oliver Gan for the Sino-Filipino Day Golf Tournament.

THE Sino-Filipino Friendship Day Golf Tournament will be held on May 28 at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyong City to support the development of junior golfers in the country and the programs of the Philippine Sports Institute (PSI).

The one-day event, sanctioned by the World Amateur Golfers Championship, will have a double shotgun as jungolfers and their parents see action starting at 6 a.m., while Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) members and guests will tee off at 12 p.m.

Co-presented by the FCAAF led by its president William Gosiaco and the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. under its president Domingo H. Yap, the event is being held to help raise funds for the The Jungolf League for the development of junior golfers in the country and to the PSI, which is under the Philippine Sports Commission.

Sen. JV Ejercito, president of WWGCC, has been invited to hit the 12 p.m. opening tee shot together with Cong. Jericho Nograles of PBA partly list, FCAAF secretary-general Jose Sy, Yap and Gosiaco.

The Jungolf League president Chona dela Paz, Jungolf Federation of the Philippines corporate secretary Tiffany Copok, FCAAF director and golf chairman Francis Dy and tournament coordinator Oliver Gan will lead the 6 a.m. start of the event supported by the Philippine Airlines Lines, Tanduay, Asia Brewery and Great Volume PH.

"I want to see the kids, the jungolfers, that's what I'm looking for, who has the potential to be developed," said Gan, a former jungolfer who has been appointed by PSC chairman Butch Ramirez as NCR program officer of the PSI.

"With the help of the Filipino-Chinese businessmen, we can do it. It's really a big thank you to the federation, without them this won't be possible," added Gan.

FCAAF will have golf as the kickoff event for the Filipino-Chinese Friendship Day on June 9 to be followed by badminton, basketball cycling and volleyball.
