Princess Superal eyes fourth LPGT title, first as a pro, in Sherwood Ladies Classic
Princess Superal is playing on the LPGT as a pro as she prepares for Stage II of the LPGA qualifying next month.

PRINCESS Superal looks to score her fourth Ladies Philippine Golf Tour title, this time as a professional, when the circuit goes to Sherwood Hills Golf Club in Trece Martirez, Cavite.

After eclipsing the pros in three tournaments,  Superal relinquishes amateur status and will again battle some of the top female golfers in the country starting on Tuesday.

Superal, preparing for Stage II of the LPGA Qualifying School in Florida after finishing joint second in Stage I last month in California, is the top favorite even as Cyna Rodriguez also returns to play on the domestic tour after a stint in the LPGA.

“I’m happy to launch my pro career here in LPGA where I sharpened my talent and skills,” said Superal.

“I just hope to play to my ability and give myself a chance in the final round. The field is tough and I expect a very challenging week.”

Jennifer Rosales, winner of two LPGA tournaments, was earlier scheduled to play in the P750,000 tournament but pulled out for personal reasons.

Also seeing action is Thailand’s Amolkan Phalajivin, winner at Splendido two years ago.

“I’m feeling better with my game now,” said Phalajivin. “But I’m not expecting anything, I just want to do my best every time and enjoy my time on the course.”

Chatprapa Siriprakob, Aunchisa Utama and Ajira Nualraksa are also in the field.

“All my Thai friends have good chances, too. They’re all long hitters so it should be a fun tournament,” said Phalajivin, will start with Anya Tanpinco and amateur Sofia Chabon.

Chihiro Ikeda eyes her second title after winning at Orchard, and Korean amateur Hwang Min-jeong looks to add to the Malarayat title she won last year, while also playing in the seventh leg of this year’s circuit organized by Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc. sponsored by ICTSI and backed by Custom Clubmakers, adidas, KZG, Sharp, Summit Mineral Water, Srixon, Champion, TaylorMade, Ping, Yamaha and Pacsports are Sarah Ababa, Lovelyn Guioguio, Pauline del Rosario and Kayla Nocum.
