Top amateur Princess Superal looks set to add another title to her collection.

PRINCESS Superal is back in a familiar position, taking the top spot with a two-under 70 for a four-stroke lead after the second round of the Ladies Philippine Open presented by Champion Infinity on Thursday at Tagaytay Midlands.

The former US Girls Junior champion is on top at 141, while Pauline del Rosario, Yuka Saso and Mikhaela Fortuna share second spot at 145.

Fortuna came up with a tournament best 68, hitting five birdies against a bogey, to boost her title charge after a disappointing 77 in the opening round.

Del Rosario shot a 79 and Saso had a 73.

Superal needed just four straight pars at the start to take charge then gunned down birdies on Nos. 5 and 7.

She got to three under with birdie on No. 16 but suffered a bogey on the next hole.

“I just hung in there while battling the strong wind. I didn’t force the issue and just made the most of my birdie chances,” said Superal.

Del Rosario birdied the last two par-5 holes to get into the mix, while Saso recovered from a two-under card after nine holes with a birdie on No. 16.

First-round leader Lois Kaye Go hit two bogeys in the first four holes and reeling farther back with four bogeys in a seven-hole stretch from No. 9 for a 78 and a 148 total.
