RIO DE JANEIRO —Miguel Tabuena fired a two-over par 73 in the third round for a 221 total, but still way off the leaders entering the final 18 holes of the golf competition of the XXXI Olympiad at the Olimpico de Golfe here.

Tabuena struggled at the start, bogeying the second to fourth holes before scoring a birdie at No. 5 of the  Rio De Janeiro Olympic Golf Course.

The Filipino golfer got off to a hot start at the front nine around when he went even par after two consecutive birdies on the 10th and 11th, only to bogey Nos 13 and 15, respectively.

Tabuena is still playing with pain in his right shoulder but is hell bent on finishing the competition despite being at 56th place as of posting time.
