Jobim Carlos and other top young shotmakers battle for honors at Canlubang.

THREE-peat seeking Park Min Ung banners a Korean contingent set to battle some of the best shotmakers in the Philippines in the Canlubang Amateur Open firing off on Oct. 7 at Cangolf’s South course in Laguna.

Park, who last year won by one over now pro Tonton Asistio, has confirmed his participation in the 54-hole tournament that also features members of the Philippine national team.

Naitonal golfers Jobim Carlos, Jelbert Gamolo, Rupert Zaragosa, Jan Philippe de Claro, Kristoffer Arevalo and Dan Cruz  are seeing action in the 15th staging of the annual event hosted by Cangolf.

Yuka Saso and Harmie Constantino, who won the Kartini Cup for Team Philippines recently, lead the field in the distaff side which is also expected to draw the participation of members of The Country Club  headed by defending champion Pauline del Rosario.

Registration is ongoing. Aside from the centerpiece Open to be disputed over 54 holes and the ladies division (36 holes), the event also features 36-hole competitions in Classes A (11-and-below), B (12-18) and C (19-and-above). Fees are pegged at P3,000 (men’s Open), P2,800 (Classes A, B and C and ladies) and P1,000 for CGCC members, inclusive of a free practice round. Deadline for listup is on Oct. 2.
