Elmer Salvador looks to end year-long title drought as he defends Riviera Classic
Elmer Salvador, winner of three ADT events, hopes to retain the title as he plays against a field featuring foreign players.

ELMER Salvador hopes to snap a year-long winless run as he tries to retain the the ICTSI Riviera Classic title starting on Wednesday at Riviera’s Langer layout in Silang, Cavite.

Salvador dominated a tough international field to rule the Asian Development Tour event last year and join the elite group of three-time ADT leg winners.

But after his five-shot romp over Thailand’s Pavit Tangkamolprasert and England’s Peter Richardson, the Davaoeno shotmaker hasn’t claimed a title.

“It’s been a long while since I last won and it would be doubly nice if I could again at Riviera,” said Salvador.

Tipped to foil his title repeat in the event organized by Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc., are Jay Bayron, Cassius Casas, Clyde Mondilla, Frankie Minoza, Marvin Dumandan, Mhark Fernando, Jhonnel Ababa, Mars Pucay, Joenard Rates, Orlan Sumcad, Elmer Saban, Zanie boy Gialon, Michael Bibat and Jun Bernis.

Nine Koreans led by Park Jun Hyeok and Gyuha Park, are also seeing action, along with Japan’s Yuta Sudo, South Africa’s Joshua Seale and Dutchman Guido Van der Valk.

From Riviera, the circuit makes a return trip to Mindanao as it stages the ICTSI Rancho Palos Verdes Classic from July 1 to 4 before the ICTSI Apo Golf Invitational from July 8 to 11.
