MORE golf enthusiasts can now return to the fairways as Navy Golf Club and Villamor Golf Club have opened their gates to unaccompanied guests.
Courses continue to ease restrictions after Navy opened three weeks ago to military personnel and civilian members, and Villamor’s dry run that started this month initially did not allow walk-ins.
However, golf rounds at the two military courses cost a lot more with the clubs charging an additional P250 for registration and P500 for COVID-19 mitigation fees aside from the green fees and caddies' pay.
Villamor, at least, brought back its twilight promo rate of P2,000 for players teeing off at 2 p.m. or later, which entailed a 50 percent reduction of green fees.
Guests at Aguinaldo Golf Club still need to be accompanied by members, while private courses Manila Golf Club and Wack Golf and Country Club remain exclusive to members.
Club Intramuros in Manila and Veterans Golf Club in Quezon City are also open to guests.
Golfers can also get access to private clubs south of Metro Manila, with Sherwood Hills and Orchard in Cavite, KC Filipinas in Laguna, and Mt. Malarayat in Batangas accepting non-members.
Up north, golfers can see some action in Luisita in Tarlac, and Beverly Place and Pradera Verde in Pampanga.
