MIGUEL Tabuena roared with five birdies in his third-round 2-under-par 69 Saturday at LIV Golf Singapore, his best round so far, that pushed him to a tie for 35th place with one round left at the Sentosa Golf Club.
It was an improvement after he started the round in 44th spot, but it could have been better if not for a double bogey that derailed his early start, wiping out two birdies.
Another bogey later put him at plus 1. But he fired three birdies on the way home to finish his round in style.

Starting the day at 3 over, Tabuena is now at 1 over after earlier rounds of 72-73, but is well poised to make his strongest finish in the Asian swing of LIV Golf. He was 48th in the opening leg in Riyadh, 44th in Adelaide and 52nd in Hong Kong last week.
Tabuena, the first Filipino in LIV Golf, trails co-leaders Joaquin Nieman and 52-year-old Lee Westwood, both at 10 under par for the tournament.
Nieman fired a 5-under-par 66 and Westwood a 69, to overtake Bryson DeChambeau who led after the second at 10 under-par. But the long-hitting American cooled off and settled for a 1-over-par 72 that put him tied with Richard Lee, a wild card like Tabuena, in third place at 9 under.
Jon Rahm, winner last week in HK shot even par 71 and took solo fifth at 7 under for the tournament.
