Miguel Tabuena seeks redemption after Southwoods slip as he sees action in PGT Asia's Wack Wack leg

Miguel Tabuena seeks redemption as PGT Asia goes to Wack Wack

Moguel Tabuena eyes his second victory on the PGA Asia series.

MIGUEL Tabuena tries to redeem himself after a last-hole meltdown at Southwoods as he sees action in the PGT Asia’s ICTSI Wack Wack Championship starting on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old Olympian had a chance to win the RW Manila Masters on Sunday but missed a long putt that would have given him the title and could not sink the five-footer for par that would have put him in a playoff.

Korean-American Micah Shin won the playoff against Thailand’s Arnond Vongvanij.

Tabuena shrugged off the setback, saying it was a “learning experience” and instead set his sights on his bid for a second PGTA crown after he won the circuit’s first leg, also at Southwoods.

The 106-player field features 43 foreign shotmakers from 16 countries.

Tabuena will start with Tony Lascuña and PGTA Splendido leg champion Rene Menor.

They will be followed by another explosive group composed of Philippine Golf Tour season top money earner Clyde Mondilla, Michael Bibat and Thailand’s Pasavee Lertvilai.

Mondilla, winner of four legs in the PGT, is gunning for a second straight PGTA title after nipping Bibat and Korean amateur Tom Kim at Riviera in September.
