HOMETOWN bet Miguel Tabuena, Sampson Zheng of China, and Sarit Suwannarut of Thailand will be on the championship flight in the International Series Philippines on Saturday after gaining the share of the lead on moving day at the Sta. Elena Golf Club.
Tabuena replicated his second round by shooting a 65 on Saturday to go 17-under 199 and stay in contention for the title.
The Rio De Janeiro Olympian had two eagles during the third round including another one in the 16th to keep himself in contention for the USD 360,000 (nearly P21 million) top prize.
But the Filipino golfer still found himself in a tight contest for the crown after Zheng, a sophomore in the Asian Tour, shot a bogey-free 62 after an eagle and eight birdies.
Suwannarut remains in the hunt for the title after shooting a 69 but lost sole possession of the lead after two bogeys despite making five birdies.
Tabuena, Zheng, and Suwannarut will start their round on Sunday at 10:45 a.m.
Also within striking distance of the crown is Yosuke Asaji of Japan, who had a three-day total of 200 after making a 65 on Saturday.
LIV Tour golfer Dean Burmester of South Africa and Kazuki Higa of Japan is in a share of fifth with a 202.
