THERE was no miracle round for Miguel Tabuena.
The Filipino star shot a 1-over-par 73 in the final round of LIV Golf United Kingdom and finished solo 50th in a field of 56 players, 5 over par at the JCB Golf & Country Club.
Lucas Herbert captured the championship, setting records along the way, with a final round 10-under-par 62, to finish at 30 under, six strokes better than runner up Tyrrell Hatton who shot a bogey-free 63, 9 under par.

Also left eating dust in the wake of Herbert’s fantastic week was Bryson DeChambeau who shot a 68 to finish solo third at 21 under par.
It was the second wire-to-wire finish for Herbert in which his 30 under was a record low for the league, improving on the 26 under posted by DeChambeau and Jon Rahm in the South Africa tournament which DeChambeau won in a playoff.
Herbert set records for most birdies (30) and most combination of birdies and eagles (32) in any single LIV Golf tournament. He shot a 61, 11 under par, in his opening round.
On the other hand, Tabuena had three birdies and four bogeys in the final round and failed to break par over four days. His previous scores were 73-74-73 at the par-72 course.
Tabuena took home $50,000, the prize for players who finished 47th-56th place.
Herbert pocketed $4 million for the win from a total prize of $20 million.
Rookie fends off world No. 1 Scheffler to win 3M Open
Jackson Koivun did not panic when fans started chanting “Scottie’s coming, Scottie’s coming” as the 21-year-old rookie played the final few holes of the 3M Open on Sunday at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minn.
Koivun kept his composure and navigated the treacherous few holes with decisiveness and grit to beat world No. 1 Scheffler by three strokes for his first PGA Tour win.
Scheffler, who trailed by six strokes at the start of the fourth round, shot a 63 and moved into second place as Koivun went through the end of the round trying hard to keep his mind on the task at hand.
Leading by two shots with three holes remaining, Koivun, who turned 21 last May 23, finished par-birdie-par to secure the win, relegating Scheffler to his fifth second-place finish of the season.
“I played a great round of golf today, definitely had some nerves coming down 18,” Koivun said in an interview with CBS. “All throughout, the crowd I kept hearing ‘Scottie’s coming, Scottie’s coming,’ and I just tried to tune that out and keep playing the golf I knew I could and was able to find some good putts down the stretch.”
The 3M Open was Koivun’s 13th career start on the PGA Tour but just his third as a professional. In his first dozen tournaments, he finished in the top 25 six times and in the Top Six three times. – From wire reports
