DAVAO-based Korean Micah Shin returns to action in the Philippines seeking a big win in the ICTSI Villamor Philippine Masters which unwraps on Wednesday at the Villamor Golf Club.
The 22-year-old golfer is back after competing in the Myanmar Open, Indian Open and China Open, eyeing his third title in the Philippines after securing his first pro win in the Central Azucarera de Tarlac Open of the Philippine Golf Tour in 2016 and topping The Country Club Invitational in February.
Clyde Mondilla and Tony Lascuña also vie for honors in the Masters along with two-time PGT Asia winner Jhonnel Ababa, Jay Bayron, Michael Bibat, Marvin Dumandan, Joenard Rates, Keanu Jahns, Rene Menor, Mars Pucay, Justin Quiban, Elmer Salvador and Orlan Sumcad.
Also seeing action in the P3 million event sponsored by ICTSI and hosted by the VGC are Dutchman Guido Van der Valk, Canada’s Lindsey Renolds, Peter Stojanovski of Macedonia, Spain’s Paya Vila Salvador, Japan’s Yuta Sudo, Keisuke Takahashi, Naoya Takahashi, Yu Ikeda and Eiichiro Hiyama and Korea’s Guo Chang Chang, Myung Chal Hwang, Kim Sung Wook, Lee Hyun Jun, Park Jun Sung and Park Min Ung.
Lexus Keoninh and Andy Kang of the US are also in the field of the four-day championship backed by BDO, KZG, Custom Clubmakers, Meralco, Sharp, Champion, Summit Mineral Water and PLDT, offering a top prize of P550,000.
