INIGO Raymundo matched par 72 and former junior star AR Ramos returned a 75 on Sunday as La Salle-Greenhills tallied a second straight 147 to stay three strokes ahead of Lyceum after two rounds of the NGAP’s first-ever Inter-Scholastics golf championship at Canlubang Golf and Country Club.
Luigi Guerrero had a 78 that did not count as LSGH registered a 294 total at the club’s south course.
Lawrence Celestino fired a 73 and Wolen Superal scored a 74 for Lyceum’s 147 as Carlos Tinio III had an 87 in the three-to-play, two-to-count format.
Basti Lorenzo shot a 72 and Gabriel Manotoc had a 74 as Beacon scored a day-best 146 for a 300 total after two rounds of the 72-hole event that offers P100,000 to the winning school’s athletic program.
De La Salle University was at 304 after a second round 150 by Marvin Mendoza (74) and Gino Bunyi (76).
Joseph Uy returned a 69, the second sub-par card of the tournament, but College of St. Benilde’s next best score was the 90 of Marvin Sy for a 159 and a 319 total.
The final two rounds of the tournament event presented by the MVP Sports Foundation are set April 6 and 7.
