YUKA Saso finally met her idol Rory McIlroy at the Torrey Pines South Course in La Jolla, California on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time) where the 121st US Open is taking place.
The 19-year-old Saso shared a moment with McIlroy during the practice round, bringing with her the US Women's Open trophy she won two weeks ago at The Olympic Club in San Francisco.
Saso's swing has been compared McIlroy's, the 2011 US Open champion.
During the US Women's Open campaign, Saso also drew support from McIlroy through social media, urging her to "go finish it out" and "get that trophy."
"And I did. So thank you, Rory," Saso said.
Aside from McIlroy, Saso also met with Bryson DeChambeau, the reigning US Open champion.
