GOLF fans rejoice. The Masters, yes, the Masters, the world’s most famous golf tournament, will be on local TV after all.
It will broadcast “live” from Augusta National from the first round onwards early Friday morning in the Philippines.
SPIN.ph had reported Sunday that the tournament was not on local TV’s schedule but it turned out it will be on Spotv1 or Spotv2.

The two stations on Monday night showed pre-Masters activities such as “On the Range” and the replay of Augusta National Women’s Amateur to indicate that the Masters will follow soon afterwards.
Major sports events had been missing from local television that it was thought the Masters will not air, thankfully it will air on time.
Previously, the PGA Tour and other big events such as Wimbledon and Formula 1 had been dropped from local programming.
Great relief for golf fans
But the airing of the Masters would be great relief for golf fans who had previously wondered if the broadcast will be available.
Scottie Scheffler will be gunning for his third Masters and second consecutive title after first winning it for the first time in 2022. Jon Rahm of Spain won in 2023.
Scheffler is the oddsmakers choice to win again but Rory McIlroy is the player many think will spoil the American’s bid.
McIlroy has been unable to win a major in 11 years but is coming to the tournament with two wins in the current season having won at Pebble Beach and then added the Players Championship a few weeks ago.
