THE ICTSI Ladies Philippine Golf Tour Qualifying School tees off on Wednesday at Eagle Ridge’s Aoki Course in Cavite, with local shotmakers and foreign parbusters looking to earn playing rights in the richer and bigger 2014 season.
Thailand’s Amolkan Phalajivin heads the foreign bets eyeing berths in the new season of the LPGT, which now has an eight-tournament calendar after a five-leg inaugural season.
Also joining the 54-hole qualifiers are England’s Sarah Henderson and Korean amateurs Kim So Yoo, Park Hyo Jin, Kim Dae Jeong, Kwon Seo Yon, Park You Ra and Japanese Sayo Yuka.
Local bets Pamela del Rosario and Vanessa Tsutsui have also signed up for the event.
After 54 holes of play, all lady professional and amateur players who make an aggregate score of 240 or better will be granted slots to the 2014 LPGT.
Cyna Rodriguez, who won two tournaments to edge Jayvie Agojo in the race for the money title, heads the cast in this year’s kickoff leg, the ICTSI Orchard Golf Ladies Classic, set April 16 to 18 at the Orchard Golf and Country Club in Cavite.
Dottie Ardina, who swept the first two legs last year but had to skip the last three to launch her LPGA bid, is also expected to see action in several events. She is booked to play in the Symetra Tour and some legs on the LPGA.
The ICTSI Wack Wack Ladies Invitational is set May 13 to 15 before action shifts to Tagaytay for the ICTSI Tagaytay Highlands Challenge from July 24 to 26.
The other legs are ICTSI Mt. Malarayat Ladies Classic from Aug. 13 to 15, ICTSI Riviera Ladies Invitational set Sept. 10 to 12, ICTSI Calatagan Ladies Classic slated Sept. 17 to 19, ICTSI Valley Golf Ladies Challenge from Oct. 14 to 16, and the ICTSI Manila Southwoods Ladies Challenge set Nov. 5 to 7.
