PBA star guard LA Tenorio - all 5-foot-8 of him - swore he has never pulled off a dunk in his entire basketball career.
Ever.
That irony didn't escape Barangay Ginebra's Tinyente Tenorio when the first hole in one he ever made in golf turned out to be a slam dunk - meaning he flew his ball straight to the cup at the seventh hole of Sta. Elena Golf Club early this week.
"Naku, never," Tenorio, 40, said laughing when asked by SPIN.ph if he ever dunked in a game. Not even in his younger years at the height of his athletic prowess, LA added.

The former Gilas Pilipinas co-captain picked up golf not too long ago in the company of good friends like actor Zanjoe Marudo, and he sneaks in a round whenever he can in the middle of a hectic schedule as a player for Ginebra, assistant coach of Gilas Pilipinas, and now head coach of the Gilas Youth team.
He got so hooked to the gentleman's game that some friends swore LA attempted to play even in the middle of his cancer treatment in 2023.

Still, LA, like everyone else, has been humbled by this game. And he was humble enough to admit that the sight of his Titleist ProV1 ball, hit from 167 yards away into the wind with a Callaway A1 Smoke rescue club, disappearing into the cup of hole No. 7 at Sta. Elena was as exhilirating as any of the championships he has won. All because he doesn't consider himself a good golfer.
"The feeling was like more than winning a championship kasi I'm not a pro golfer," said the Ginebra star, "and hindi naman ako magaling pa na golfer."
Or at least not yet.
