JUVIC Pagunsan is off to a tough start in the PGA Tour’s CIMB Classic, firing a 73 on Thursday at the West Course of TPC Kuala Lumpur.
The shotmaker from Bacolod fired two birdies against three bogeys and stood nine strokes off the pace in the US$7 million event (P360 million).
Cameron Smith of Australia set the pace with a bogey-free eight-under 64, while Keegan Bradley, Xander Schauffele and Poom Saksansin of Thailand stood a stroke off.
Kevin Na, Gary Woodland and Pat Perez shot 66s to share fifth.
Brendan Steele and Davis Love III led a big group in eighth spot, while Ian Poulter was in joint 19th with three others.
