XAVIER School has built a commanding lead in the lower school division after four rounds of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines interschool tournament.
Scott Ng, Geoffrey Tan and Chaz Limketkai have compiled a score 530 points for Xavier School in the division for Grades 1 to 3 in the six-round tournament .
Running second place is Maria Montesosri Children’s SFI with 461 points, followed by British School Manila with 341 points. Ng has 189 points, while Tan has 173 points and Limketkai has 168 points for Xavier School, which has as captain Oliver Gan, a former junior golf champion who represented the country in various international competitions.
“Their success only shows that they’re developing well even at a young age,” said Gan, also NCR Sports Director of the Philippine Sports Institute under the Philippine Sports Commission.
“I hope Xavier, as well as other schools continue to support sports especially golf. We feel that these children have a good future and if they continue to work hard and focus on their game,” Gan added.
Nicole Gaisano Gan, the seven-year-old daughter of the sports official, leads her division with 167 points through four rounds with two to play representing Immaculate Conception Academy.
The last two rounds will be played at Riviera.
