The upcoming Junior Philippine Golf Tour (JPGT) is poised to ignite the passion and skills of young golfers across three distinct age categories as it kicks off its challenging 14-leg circuit on May 14 at Splendido Taal Golf Club in Laurel, Batangas.

Managed independently under the Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc. banner, this tour promises an inspiring journey for aspiring talents eager to showcase their abilities on the fairways and greens. The JPGT aims to foster players’ development and nurture the next generation of international representatives for the Philippines, following in the footsteps of renowned players like Bianca Pagdanganan and Dottie Ardina.

Setting itself apart from existing junior golf organizations, the JPGT offers a collaborative environment with minimal scheduling conflicts, maximizing opportunities for young players to flourish. Open to all youngsters within three age brackets, the tournament structure varies based on age, with players aged 15-18 engaging in four-round clashes, while younger divisions compete in 36-hole and 54-hole tournaments.

A stellar lineup of talents, including Javie Bautista, Mona Sarines, Tiffany Bernardino, Jacob Casuga, and Angelica Bañez anticipates the challenges of the 18-hole format. Building on the success of its debut last year, spearheaded by golf patron Ricky Razon, the JPGT continues to prioritize holistic skill development through exhilarating tournaments and skill-enhancing competitions.

    Visayas stops for JPGT

Following the inaugural event at Splendido, the tour ventures north to Pradera Verde in Lubao, Pampanga, and Pinewoods Golf Club in Baguio. The journey extends to the Visayas, with stops in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo, Bacolod Country Club, and Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club, before returning to Luzon for the Mount Malarayat tournament in Lipa City, Batangas.

Culminating in the Philippine Junior Match Play Championship at The Country Club in October, the JPGT guarantees an exciting journey for young golfers, shaping them into the future stars of Philippine golf.
