    Juvic Pagunsan settles for joint 10th after faltering finish in Japan PGA Championship

    JUVIC Pagunsan had a faltering finish and settled for a share of 10th spot after a 72 in the final round of the Japan PGA Championship on Sunday at Hokkaido Classic Golf Club.

    Tied for fifth at the start of the day, Pagunsan failed to gain ground and closed his round with three bogeys.

    The Filipino shotmaker, who had earlier rounds of 71-70-67, wound up at 8-under 280 after a round featuring an eagle on the par-4 No. 12, four birdies and six bogeys.

    Pagunsan bagged ¥3,630,000 (around P1.7 million).

    Hideto Tanihara registered the day’s best 63 to force a playoff with Toshinori Muto, who had a closing 69.

    Tanihara won the title and bagged ¥30,000,000 (around P14 million).

    Young Han Song of Korea finished in solo third after a 65 for a 268 total, while Michael Hendry of New Zealand was fourth at 275 after a closing 67.
