KEANU Jahns hit six birdies against three bogeys for 69, stretching his lead to two strokes after the third round of the 18th WWWExpress-DHL Amateur Championship on Thursday at the North course of Canlubang golf club in Laguna.

The 17-year-old Filipino-German has a 54-hole aggregate of 214, two strokes clear of former national champion Jik-Jik Abdon, who shot a 70.

Rupert Zaragosa broke par for the first time this week, his day-best 68 moving him to third spot and just four strokes behind at 218.

Justin Quiban fired a 73 for 219, while Japanese teener Gen Nagai had a 74 for a 220 total.

First round leader Lloyd Jefferson Go continued to fade, firing a 77 for a 225 total, 11 strokes down and tied with former junior wonder Wolen Superal, who struggled to a 78.

The event is part of the PLDT Group Amateur Golf Tour and is being used by the National Golf Association of the Philippines to scout for new members of the national pool.

In women’s play, Dottie Ardina recorded a second straight sub-par round, shooting a 69 to pull away by seven strokes from Pauline del Rosario, who shot a 75.

The multi-titled Ardina, who opened up with a 71 in the 54-hole event, now has a 140 tally. Princess Superal was eight strokes back after a 75 in the tournament presented by the MVP Sports Foundation and backed by Pancake House, Nike, Golf Depot and Pacsports.
