Miguel Tabuena comes up with a closing 78.

HIDEKI Matsuyama finished the way he started, closing out with a 66 for a seven-stroke victory on Sunday in the HSBC Champions in Shanghai.

The Japanese shotmaker, who had earlier rounds of 66-65-68, won at 23-under 265, well ahead of Henrik Stenson, who shot a day’s best 65 for a 272 total.

Miguel Tabuena of the Philippines had a tough final round of 78 in the World Golf Championship event.

The Philippine Open champion struggled at Sheshan International, the frustrating round typified by a stretch of three holes on the back nine that he played at six over.

He did recover a little with back-to-back birdies from No. 2 and he wound up with a 298 total for a share of 68th spot.

Rory McIlroy fired a closing 66 to finish at 273 for fourth place behind Daniel Berger, who shot a final-round 69.
