HIDEKI Matsuyama Matsuyama fired a 4-under 68 to stay three strokes clear after three rounds of the HSBC Champions on Saturday in Shanghai.

The Japanese shotmaker was at 17-under 199, ahead of Russell Knock, who also fired a 68.

Miguel Tabuena suffered a late slip and wound up with a third-round 72.

The Philippine Open champion remained quite a bit off the pace, in joint 55th at 220.

Tabuena, who had earlier rounds of 72-76, started on the back nine and was one over at the turn and got to two under with birdies on No. 2 and 6.

The young Filipino golfer, however, suffered a double-bogey 7 on the eighth before making birdie on No. 9.
