CLOSE TO 70 players have already enlisted for the NGAP’s National Seniors and Mid-Am Championships presented by the MVP Sports Foundation at well-manicured Mount Malarayat in Lipa City.
The Mid-Am division is reserved for players 30 to 54 years old with handicap indices of not lower than 7.0 and not higher than 12.0, while the Senior competition will be for amateur golfers who are 55 and above.
The event, which is part of the PLDT Group Amateur Tour and backed by Pancake House, Golf Depot and Pacsports, tees off on Wednesday.

Canlubang golf manager Rolly Viray and Francis Gaston, who have the record of holding both the regular men’s and senior’s crowns in their careers, are already entered and are listed as favorites in the 54-hole event.
Mainstays of the rock-solid Canlubang and reigning PAL Interclub champion Luisita sides have also entered, with Pepot Inigo, Iggy Clavecilla, Rudy Amata and Tommy Joson seeing action for Luisita.
The Sugar Barons will be represented in the event by Viray, former pro and ex-champion Dave Hernandez, Tony Olives and Mari Hechanova.
