ANGELO Que fired a two-under par 69 on Friday to make a strong bid at the SMBC Singapore Open, trailing the leader by just three shots at the end of second-round play on Friday at the Sentosa Golf Club.

The Filipino pro mixed four birdies and two bogeys in a fitting follow-up to his opening 67 as he moved up to six-under 136 after 36 holes of the $1 million event co-sanctioned by the European and Asian Tours.

Que, a three-time winner on the Asian Tour, is just three shots behind American Seungsu Han (66-67) and just one shot back of world No. 7 Adam Scott of Australia (68-67) and Malaysian Gavin Green, who is at two-under for the day and seven-under for the tournament with four holes to play.

“I feel good with how I have played these two rounds. I hit it really good yesterday and I managed to continue that form when we restart this morning. I holed a lot of putts and made a lot of up and downs. I think to shoot a two-under par in this condition is pretty good for me,” said Que.

Other Filipino bidders in one of Asia's biggest golf tournaments are also doing well.

Miguel Tabuena followed an opening 68 with a 69 to be in joint 14th place at five-under while Juvic Pagunsan rallied with a running four-under card with three holes to play in the second round when play was suspended due to darkness.

Tony Lascuna struggled with a 74 after an opening 68 but is on course to make the weekend play at even par for the tournament.
