    Over 90 teams expected to see action in seniors division of 69th Fil-Am Golf

    FOUR brand new Toyota cars will be up for grabs in the 69th Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament firing off on Saturday at the Baguio Country Club and Camp John Hay.

    Toyota Rush subcompact SUVs are the hole in one prizes on BCC No. 10 and the 18th hole at John Hay.

    Toyota Wigos, meanwhile, will be raffled off during the seniors division awards night set Dec. 6 and the regular division on Dec. 15.

    The captains’ meeting is set on Wednesday to finalize the lineup of teams.

    Seeing action in the seniors tournament are 91 teams, 22 more than last year’s field. The super seniors is open to players 70 years and older where co-host John Hay will be fielding a team.

    Luisita is expected to be bannered by former pro Eddie Bagtas as it defends its crown in the premier Fil Championship flight with Manila Southwoods, expected to be anchored by Tommy Manotoc, leads the challengers in the five to play, four to count tournament backed by by San Miguel.

    Luisita is also defending in the Am Championship.

    The regular championship starts on Dec. 10.

    Southwoods holds the title and will gun for its 17th crown title since its tournament debut in 1997.

    Yutu Katsuragawa is expected to return after a year’s absence from the team which will miss Joo Hyung Kim, last year’s individual champion, who has turned pro.

    Southwoods will miss Luigi Paolo Wong, who is from nearby La Trinidad, who moved to Royal Northwoods.
