MHARK Fernando came up with a 68, while Miguel Tabuena had a 71 to grab a share of 39th place in the third round of the Asian Tour’s Qualifying School Final Stage on Saturday at Springfield Royal Country Club in Thailand.
The two Filipino parbusters are at 4-under 210, way off the lead held by Canada’s Richard Lee at 15-under 199 with rounds of 65-68-66.
But Fernando and Tabuena are still on track to claim playing rights this season, with the top 40 plus ties earning Asian Tour cards for 2013.
Fernando had earlier rounds of 73-69, while Tabuena shot 67-72.
Michael Bibat was in joint 61st at 212 after rounds of 69-71-72, while Charles Hong was tied for 75th at 213 after shooting 73-67-73.
