ENRIQUE Dimayuga carded a five-under-par 67 in the rain-delayed final round on Friday to lead a Philippines double victory at the Putra Cup in Singapore.
Riding the wave of good form he showed in winning the Singapore Open Amateur Championship last week, the London-based Dimayuga beat home bet Ryan Ang for the individual title and led the Philippines' first team title in 11 years.
The 22-year old made an eagle and seven birdies in his first 15 holes at the Seletar Country Club and beat Ang despite bogeying the last three holes. He and Ang, scoring a 68, ended 72 holes tied at 277.
Carl Corpus added a one-under 71 behind a birdie-birdie finish and Shinichi Suzuki made up for Jet Hernandez’s final-day woes by counting for the first time with a 73 to seal the Philippines' first title since its 2013 win led by PGA Tour player Rico Hoey.

The Filipinos wound up with a 17-under 847 aggregate. Vietnam finished second at 857 and powerhouse Thailand came in third at 859.
"Your exceptional achievement has made the Philippines proud. Thank you for your passion and perseverance,” said National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) president Martin Lorenzo in paying tribute to the team.
