TOUGH conditions persist at the Women’s British Open but Dottie Ardina fought to a 73 on Friday to make the cut.
The only Filipina in the LPGA’s first major tournament of 2020, Ardina had three birdies against three bogeys but suffered a six on the par-4 No. 9 at the Old Course.
It was enough to make it just at the cut line after an opening 78.
Ardina was in a big group tied for 64th including major champion Morgan Pressel and Japan LPGA major winner Nasa Hataoka.
Pressel added a 74 to her opening 77, while Hataoka slipped with a 77 after a first-round 74.
Dani Holmqvist of Sweden leads at 1-under 141 after a 70, while tied for second are Austin Ernst of the US (70) and Sophia Popov (72) at even 142.
