Daniel Nagayo tops Victoria Primary School golfest by four strokes

Daniel Nagayo comes up with a huge win after a strong fifth place finish in the Stuart Appleby Rookie Series in October.

DANIEL Nagayo carded an even par 36 at the Churchill Waverley Golf Club to top the Golf Victoria Primary School Qualifier on Monday by four strokes.

Representing Park Ridge Primary School, the 11-year old Melbourne golf scholar beat Melbourne Grammar School’s Charlie Anderson, who carded a 40.

The player from Davao three-putted for double bogey on his third hole, a par-3, but birdied the next hole, a par-4.

He got to even on the next hole with birdie after a missed eagle putt.

Nagayo made two putts for a bogey on his seventh hole, but bounced back with birdie on the next, another par-4.

It was a huge win after a strong fifth place finish in the Stuart Appleby Rookie Series in October.
