CYNA Rodriguez eyes her second title of the year as the ICTSI Ladies Philippine Golf Tour resumes with on Wednesday at Mt. Malarayat’s composite courses in Lipa City, Batangas.
Rodriguez did not see action at ICTSI Luisita in Tarlac last month, won by Fil-American Cristina Corpus for her first victory in the circuit organized by Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc.
Last year’s money list topnotcher is back to try to add to her ICTSI Riviera leg win in May.
Rodriguez also took the top prize of P100,000 at Wack Wack after losing to amateur star Princess Superal in a playoff.
No player has scored a repeat so far in this year’s circuit sponsored by ICTSI, with Korea’s Ye Nah Hwang ruling the ICTSI Ladies Open, Thailand’s Wichanee Meechai winning at Splendido, Superal topping Wack Wack, Rodriguez winning at Riviera, Sarah Ababa finally scoring her first career win at Sherwood and Corpus prevailing at Luisita.
Among the other favorites are Chihiro Ikeda, former Philippine Ladies Open winner Jayvie Agojo, Koreans Kim So Un and Oh Yeji, and local bets Lovelynn Guioguio, Apple Fudolin, Majorie Pulumbarit, Lucy Landicho, Barsy Leonen and England’s Sarah Henderson.
The event serves as the penultimate leg of the eight-stage circuit, with the shotmaking winding up their chase at Southwoods for the ICTSI Manila Southwoods Ladies Classic on Oct. 27 to 29.
