GOLF is truly back in swing in the Philippines.

After a long lull, the country is set to host its second golf major event in four months when the $500,000 Philippine President's Cup is held for the first time at the famed East Course of the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.

The tournament is a joint undertaking of the National Golf Association of the Philippines and the Philippine Sports Commission, in line with PSC chairman Pato Gregorio's mandate to drive sports tourism in the country as head of the National Sports Tourism Inter-Agency Committee.

"This is just to say that our country is a great golf destination, and great sports destination," Gregorio added.

Considering the big crowds that watched Miguel Tabuena win his biggest title as a pro last October, organizers expect fans to converge at Wack Wack, especially if the country's top player is once again in contention.
