The big-hitting Pagdanganan fired a second straight five-under 65, moving from joint 24th to solo fifth after the third round on Saturday in Pennsylvania (Sunday, Manila time).
Pagdanganan was three under at the turn and made two more birdies on the back nine to get to three-under 207, four strokes behind South Korea’s Sei Young Kim, who shot a 67.
Two strokes behind were Canada’s Brooke Henderson, who matched the day’s best 65, and 2009 Women’s PGA champion Anna Nordqvist of Sweden, who shot a 68.
Former world No. 1 Inbee Park was alone in fourth at four-under after a 66.
Mina Harigae of the US shot a 66 for a share of sixth with Mexico’s Gaby Lopez (68), American golfer Jennifer Kupcho (71) and Spain’s Carlota Ciganda (71).
The 22-year-old Pagdanganan plays the fourth round with Park and Harigae, just ahead of the Kim, Henderson and Nordqvist flight.
