    TONY Lascuna fired a 71 to become the best-placed Filipino after two rounds as Juvic Pagunsan faltered with a 73 in the Manila Masters on Friday at Manila Southwoods.

    The Philippine Golf Tour top money earner, who had an opening 68, actually slipped from joint 10th to a share of 11th at 139 and was six strokes off the leaders.

    Mardan Mamat of Singapore added a 68 to his opening 65 for a 133 total, which was matched by Jeung-hun Wang of Korea, who had rounds of 68-65.

    Former Asian Tour No. 1 Pagunsan, who had a near-flawless 67 and was tied for fifth after the opening round, slid to joint 15th at 140.

    Elmer Salvador added a 74 to his opening 69 and was in joint 41st place, while Frankie Minoza (71), Jhonnel Ababa (75) and Clyde Mondilla (73) were in joint 49th at 144.

    Miguel Tabuena had a slightly better round of 71 after an opening 74 and will make the weekend play along with Joenard Rates (71) and Benjie Magada (75).

    Jay Bayron fired a 76 after a 71 for a 147 total and missed the cut along with Elmer Saban (74-73), Cassius Casas (73-74), Rey Pagunsan (77-70), Rufino Bayron (78-70), Angelo Que (76-72), Mars Pucay (72-76), Anthony Fernando (76-72), Rene Menor (71-78), Rico Depilo (75-74), Paul Echavez (75-76), Artemio Murakami (75-76), Dante Becierra (74-78) and several other Filipino bets.
