ADT money list leader Hsieh Chi-hsien set to see action in Sherwood Hills Classic

    Apr 20, 2015
Hsieh Chi-hsien of Chinese Taipei is looking to tighten his hold on the top spot of the ADT Order of Merit.

ASIAN Development Tour money list leader Hsieh Chi-hsien of Chinese Taipei signed up for the ICTSI Sherwood Hills Classic teeing off on Wednesday Sherwood Hills Golf Club in Cavite.

Hsieh didn’t play in last week’s ICTSI Eagle Ridge Invitational won by Malaysian Arie Irawan but is all set to see action at Sherwood as he looks to tighten his hold of the top spot in the ADT.

The 24-year-old winner of Yeangder ADT crown last month joins 25 other pros in Tuesday’s traditional pro-am, hoping to familiarize himself with the tough par-72 layout.

Irawan, who beat Miguel Tabuena by four at Eagle Ridge to claim his second ADT win this year and close in on Hsieh, will not be around to go for a second straight victory on ADT’s two-week swing in the country.

Seeing action are Poosit Supupramai, Panuwat Muenlek, Annop Tangkamolprasert, Itthipat Buranatanyarat and Atthaphon Sriboonkaew of Thailand, Japan’s Masaru Takahashi, Sweden’s Nils Floren, Wilson Choo of Malaysia, and Americans Casey O’Toole and Micah Shin in the 72-hole championship co-organized by ADT and Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc.

Charles Hong, winner of the all-Filipino Sherwood Hills Classic last year, will be looking to score a repeat, this time against a field with foreign players.

Also joining the hunt are Jhonnel Ababa, Benjie Magada, Orlan Sumcad, Ferdie Aunzo, Jun Bernis, Michael Bibat, Anthony Fernando, Mhark Fernando, Dante Becierra, Elmer Saban, Randy Garalde, Rey Pagunsan and Frankie Minoza.

All eyes will be on Hsieh, who has set his sights on earning his Asian Tour card next year.

“Now that I’ve won again on the ADT and leading the OOM race, I’m focusing on the ADT as much as I can this season to earn my Asian Tour card for next year. The ADT is a good platform for aspiring players to advance their careers,” said Hsieh.
