DOTTIE Ardina shot a three-under 69 to seize a one-stroke lead over Indonesia’s Millie Saroha in the first round of the True Visions International Junior Golf Championship 2013 on Tuesday at Windsor Park and Golf Club in Bangkok.
Ardina, coming off a victory in the 18-20 age group of the Thailand Ladies Open last week, hit four birdies against a bogey to seize control at the start of the four-day championship.
Saroha carded a 70 while Princess Superal, who placed third in the Thailand Open overall championship, turned in a 71 to tie Thai Kanyalak Preedasuttijit at third.
Defending champion Sarah Ababa struggled turned in a 76.
Abby Arevalo, meanwhile, shot a 70 to post a two-stroke lead over Paphangkorn Tayatanakit of Thailand in the 13-14 division.
Jo Hua Hung of Taiwan stood at third with a 73.
Sofia Chabon, the youngest member of the ICTSI squad, scored a 76 to trail fellow Filipina and Aguinaldo bet Harmie Constantino by eight in the 12-and-below division.
Constantino fired a 68 to wrest a one-shot lead over Thai Pampawee Thammawichai, who carded a 69.
